You have one port day on Roatan and a hard all-aboard time. These are the Roatan shore excursions we run every ship day: ATV, zip line and horseback tours in a 165 acre nature reserve at Isla Tropicale (formerly Mahogany Bay). Guests from the Isla Tropicale cruise terminal walk five minutes to our gate, guests from Port of Roatan at Coxen Hole ride our free shuttle, and we time every tour to your ship.
The best Roatan excursion for one port day: all three in one
The Ultimate Adventure Package is our most booked Roatan cruise excursion by a wide margin. You ride an ATV through the jungle, fly the Extreme Zip Line and finish on horseback, all in one reserve with one check-in, so there is no driving between stops and no negotiating with taxis.
- Time on the ground: about 2 hours 35 minutes.
- Price: $240$120 per adult, with lower prices for children, youths and seniors.
- Fits: any standard Isla Tropicale call, and calls of 6 hours or more from Port of Roatan.

Two-activity combos
If the full package is too long for your call, pair any two activities. Each combo runs about 1 hour 40 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes on the ground. See them side by side on our combo deals page.
- ATV Safari and Horseback: $186$93 per adult. Our second most popular tour, and the one we suggest for Port of Roatan guests on shorter calls.
- ATV and Zip Line: $186$93 per adult. The most adrenaline in the shortest time.
- Zip Line and Horseback: $186$93 per adult. The canopy first, then a calmer ride through the reserve.
Single tours
- ATV Jungle and Beach Safari: about 45 minutes, $110$55 per adult. Follow your guide on your own quad through jungle trails after a safety briefing.
- Extreme Zip Line Adventure: about 55 minutes, $100$40 per adult. 13 platforms and 11 cables across 1.8 kilometers of canopy.
- Horseback Riding: about 55 minutes, $92$46 per adult. Trails through the reserve at a walking pace, good for every age.
Fishing charter
The fishing charter is a private boat for up to 8 people, as a half day (4 hours) or a full day (8 hours), from $1,000 per boat. It suits a group that fishes and has a long port call.
Tickets for every age
Every ATV, zip line and horseback tour has four ticket types: child (12 and under), youth (13 to 17), adult (18 to 59) and senior (60 and over). Groups save 10% on 6 to 15 tickets and 15% on 16 or more.
Which cruise port are you at?
Roatan has two cruise ports, and your cruise line’s itinerary names yours. At Isla Tropicale (formerly Mahogany Bay), mostly Carnival ships, our gate is a five minute walk from the terminal. At Port of Roatan in Coxen Hole, where Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, MSC and Celebrity usually dock, choose Port of Roatan at checkout and our free shuttle picks you up and brings you back, about 15 minutes each way. Our Roatan cruise port guide covers both terminals in detail, and the cruise ship schedule shows which ships are in on your day.
Booking through the ship vs booking direct
- Price: the ship’s excursion desk resells local tours with its own markup. Booking direct gets you our own price, and group discounts on top.
- Schedule: ship excursions run on the departure times the ship sets. Booking direct, you choose the start time that fits your day, and our own guides lead every tour.
- Timing: all our tour times are Roatan local time (UTC minus 6), and we time every tour to your ship’s all-aboard. Tell us your ship when you book.

Frequently asked questions
What are the best Roatan excursions from a cruise ship?
For a single port day, an excursion that keeps you in one place makes the most of your time. Our Ultimate Adventure Package combines ATV, zip line and horseback in one reserve in about 2 hours 35 minutes, and it is our most booked tour. On a shorter call, a two-activity combo takes about 1 hour 40 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes.
How far is Xplore Roatan from the cruise port?
Our gate is a five minute walk from the Isla Tropicale (formerly Mahogany Bay) cruise terminal. From Port of Roatan at Coxen Hole, our free shuttle takes about 15 minutes each way.
Will I make it back to the ship in time?
We time every tour to your ship. All our tour times are Roatan local time (UTC minus 6), so check your all-aboard time against island time and tell us your ship when you book.
Are Roatan shore excursions cheaper when booked direct?
Usually, yes. The ship’s excursion desk resells local tours with its own markup. Booking direct gets you the operator’s own price, and groups of 6 to 15 save 10% with us, 16 or more save 15%.
Can kids do the excursions?
Yes. Every ATV, zip line and horseback tour has child (12 and under), youth (13 to 17), adult (18 to 59) and senior (60 and over) tickets, and our guides lead every group.
Do you pick up from both Roatan cruise ports?
Guests at Isla Tropicale walk to us in about five minutes. Guests at Port of Roatan choose that port at checkout and ride our free shuttle there and back.
